The Cell Sharks Under 21s are back in action in the SA Rugby U21 Championship, looking to continue where they left off last week when they host the Leopards Under 21s on KP2 at Growthpoint KINGS PARK.

“We got off to a good start in the competition, beating EP 54-7 last week, and we’re at home this Friday afternoon (2pm),” explains head coach Paul Anthony.

The side has settled down nicely and hopefully they will build on their first match of the competition when they scored eight tries and conceding just one.

The Leopards have played two games and lost them both, although one was a narrow loss to the Cheetahs, “then they took a hiding from the Lions, but in fairness, the Lions are an unbelievable side winning all their games with big margins.”

Although the Leopards have very big forwards with a good kicking game and a very physical side, Anthony admits that this is a must-win match if his side want to get into the play-offs.

“Last week we scored eight good tries and we want to try play quality rugby. Our three-quarters are speedy and doing well, the forwards are also doing well although we need to work on the line-outs and our breakdowns.

“We’re hoping to put in a winning performance and we’re definitely chasing the bonus point because the competition is going to be tight for everybody down the line.”
