We are the sharks

about us

The Sharks are an internationally supported brand, which over the two decades has evolved from a provincial rugby brand to a commercially recognised sporting brand of international acclaim. Our brand is recognised all over the world and it is supported by a team that consistently plays entertaining and exciting rugby that appeals to a broad spectrum of rugby enthusiasts across the demographic, age and sex spectrum.

OUR FANS CAN EXPECT MORE THAN JUST 80 MINUTES OF RUGBY…

We provide pre and post-match entertainment on our outer fields and encourage our fans to come early, braai and engage with fans alike. With the focus on the family, The Sharks provide rugby fans with wholesome entertainment in a safe, family-orientated environment. Our mascot, Sharkie, is an invaluable extension of our brand as he is able to connect with fans of all ages, the kids in particular enjoy getting selfies with their favourite mascot.

iNTERNATIONALLY SUPPORTED

The success of the brand is further justified through the commercial and emotional values which have seen it become one of the most famous rugby brands in the world. Committed sponsors, stakeholders and passionate fans provide unwavering loyalty and an invaluable contribution to the success both of the team and the brand.

OUR JERSEY

The Sharks currently participate in the Vodacom United Rugby Championship, EPCR Challenge Cup and Currie Cup tournaments and competed in Super Rugby up until 2020. Our players are exceptional role models for the youth and often interact and engage with our fans at our post-match signing sessions. The Sharks have seen many players with outstanding talent represent our jersey and have been home to four Springbok captains (Gary Teichmann, Johann Muller, John Smit & Siya Kolisi) and just under 100 Springbok players.
