South AfricaHaving recently earned his half century of Springbok caps, Bongi Mbonambi was not only a key member of South Africa’s RWC-winning team three years ago in Japan, but is also a central cog in a Cell C Sharks’ front-row unit that is shaping up as the most formidable in the URC.
Mbonambi started out at the Bulls, but transferred to WP in 2015, where he represented the Stormers on 74 occasions, before linking up with the Cell C Sharks last year.
His test debut was against Ireland in 2016, yet he operated a dozen times off the bench before getting his first start.
