Despite his season being abbreviated through injury, Grobler has proven to be a second-row stalwart for the Cell C Sharks in the recent URC campaign.
The 30-year-old represented both the Bulls and Stormers, before heading north where he had stints, between injury layoffs, with Racing 92 and, later, Stade Francias in France, as well as Gloucester in the UK.
His journey has recently led him to Shark-infested waters, where he is adding valuable experience to the front five.
