Born in Kinshasa, Zaire, on May 12, 1997, days before the end of the First Congo War that saw Zaire’s name being changed to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tambwe was raised in Johannesburg and educated at Parktown Boys High.
He starred for Golden Lions U18 at the 2015 Craven Week and top scored for Golden Lions U19 with 16 tries the following season.
His Super Rugby debut for the Lions followed in 2017, and last year he ran in four sensational tries in a match against the Stormers!
