Tera Mtembu

rsa South Africa
8th Man, Flanker
Current Team
Cell C Sharks

Tera was named Cell C Sharks Absa Currie Cup captain in 2014, leading the team with dignity and pride and always leading from the front. A big, mobile loose-forward, his ball-carrying is exceptional, and as a skilful player, keeps the attack alive with his athleticism and play-making skills. He does not shy away from uncompromising defence and plays a hard, but fair game. His junior rugby followed the path of success, from age group provincial representation to the IRB Junior World Championships in 2010 where he played alongside current team-mates Pat Lambie, Wandile Mjekevu and S’bura Sithole. He also represented his country in the HSBC Sevens World Series Dubai leg later that year before making his senior Sharks debut in the 2011 Absa Currie Cup. Two matches into the 2015 Super Rugby season, injuries curtailed his further participation in the tournament and he will look to earn regular game time in 2016.
