Eduan Swart's rugby journey began at Hoerskool Oos-Moot in Pretoria, from where he progressed into the Blue Bulls junior ranks. It was at the Airlink Pumas, however, that the powerful hooker made his name, breaking into first-class rugby with his Currie Cup debut against the Golden Lions in the 2020/21 season and quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising front-rankers outside the big franchises.
Swart wrote himself into Pumas folklore as a try-scorer in their historic 2022 Currie Cup final triumph, before earning a loan move to Welsh region Scarlets during the 2023/24 season, where he scored a last-minute match-winning try against Benetton. He joined the Hollywoodbets Sharks ahead of the 2025/26 URC, debuting in Round 1 against Glasgow Warriors, and featured across the URC, Champions Cup and Challenge Cup in his first campaign.
A dynamic ball-carrier with a Currie Cup winner's medal already secured, Swart brings depth, energy and set-piece grunt to the Sharks' hooker stocks as he targets a bigger role in 2026/27.
