Raised in Breidbach outside Qonce in the Eastern Cape, Jaden Hendrikse's rugby journey flourished at Glenwood High School in Durban, where he and brother Jordan formed a famous halfback pairing for the Green Machine. He represented SA Schools in 2017 and starred for the Junior Springboks at the 2019 World Rugby U20 Championship, scoring 41 points and earning a Breakthrough Player of the Tournament nomination.
Hendrikse made his senior Sharks debut in Round 3 of the 2020 Currie Cup against the Blue Bulls and has since become one of the club's most experienced backs across the URC, Currie Cup and EPCR competitions, even covering flyhalf when required.
His Springbok debut came against Argentina in August 2021, and he has gone on to win more than 20 Test caps. Now 26 and in his prime, Hendrikse remains central to the Sharks' scrumhalf plans for 2026/27.
