Gregan Jansen made his name as an attacking fullback at Hoerskool Duineveld in Upington, representing Griqualand West at the 2024 U18 Stadio Craven Week, where he announced himself with a hat-trick of tries against the Leopards.
His Craven Week exploits earned him a move to Durban, where he was named in the Hollywoodbets Sharks U19 squad for 2025. He made an immediate impression in the junior structures, crossing for a try when called into action for the Sharks U21 side against the Blue Bulls U21 in the SA Rugby U21 Cup in September 2025.
A natural finisher with a counter-attacking instinct honed on the Northern Cape's hard grounds, Jansen is one of the rawest but most exciting back-three prospects in the Sharks academy as he steps into the 2026/27 Currie Cup training environment.
