Corne Rahl was born in Montagu in the Western Cape and developed his game at Hoer Landbouskool Oakdale, the famed agricultural school near Riversdale that has produced a long line of hardened South African forwards. Standing 2.03 m and weighing in at 122 kg, he was always destined for the engine room.
Rahl joined the Sharks' structures and was named in the franchise's squad for the 2022 Currie Cup Premier Division, making his senior debut against the Pumas in Round 5 of that campaign. He has continued to develop within the Durban set-up, providing lineout height and physicality across the Sharks' domestic campaigns while pushing for higher honours in the URC-era squad.
Still only 24, and with second-rowers traditionally maturing late, Rahl's blend of size and work rate makes him a valuable long-term investment for the Sharks in 2026/27.
