Born in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Vincent Tshituka emigrated to South Africa with his family in 2002 and grew up in Johannesburg, attending Northcliff High School. A hip-hop dancer before rugby took hold, he developed his game at the University of Johannesburg and came through the Lions structures alongside younger brother Emmanuel.
He made his Lions debut in Super Rugby in 2019 and was named URC Player of the Month for April 2022 before signing with the Sharks ahead of the 2022/23 season, debuting alongside Eben Etzebeth against Glasgow Warriors in October 2022. Named Sharks Player of the Year in June 2025, he has captained the side on numerous occasions and extended his contract to 2029.
Having gained South African citizenship in 2024, Tshituka scored twice against the Barbarians in June 2025 before a Test debut against Italy in July 2025 completed a remarkable refugee-to-Springbok story. He enters 2026/27 as a senior leader of the Sharks loose trio.
