OPTIMUM WEDNESDAY CLUB RUGBY COLUMN

Duran Krummeck with four tries to his name was the destroyer in chief for College Rovers in their runaway 94-3 victory over the Zululand home side, Richards Bay, last Friday evening

Any side facing the holders of the Optimum Moor Cup after they had been surprisingly beaten by Westville Old Boys in the opening round the week before was bound to get the onslaught from a hurting outfit. On this occasion it was unfortunately the side from The Bay who suffererd one of my their biggest losses in their history as they celebrate their 50th Anniversary this year

Crossing for 14 tries with four from Krummeck and two each from Gerardo Jaars, Charlie Mayeza and Ryan Muller followed with one each from Monwabisi Pina, Thabiso Mdetshe, Marco Pelvie and Jason Alexander, Rovers were imperious. Inny Radeba concluded the scoring  with his trusty boot.

In the other games Bennie Mashabane led the charge with two tries for Durban Collegians in their 38-5 win over UKZN Pietermaritzburg, while Varsity College flyhalf JP Du Preez was in fine form with two tries five conversions and a penalty for 23 points in beating UKZN Durban 45-5 and Vox Crusaders beat Amanzimtoti Rugby Club 🏉 50-3
