At home, Andre Joubert delivered a definitively starring performance in the Currie Cup final against Transvaal at Ellis Park, inspiring a memorable Sharks victory and earning the South African Rugby Player of the Year award. The memory of the Rolls Royce of Fullbacks' performance - and the teams' that year - bottled the essence of what these dreamers from the East Coast were all about. The future was now and the Club glided forward with it.
