Litelihle Bester's rugby journey began at Maritzburg College, where his electric outside-back play earned him SA Schools selection in 2021 and again in 2022. He progressed into the national junior system, representing the Junior Springboks at both the 2023 and 2024 World Rugby U20 Championships, as well as the 2024 U20 Rugby Championship.
Bester made his senior debut in the 2024 Currie Cup Premier Division, part of the Sharks squad that lifted the trophy that season. His first top-side appearance came as a starter against Lyon in the 2024/25 EPCR Challenge Cup Round of 16, and he made his URC breakthrough late in the 2025/26 season, scoring against Benetton in Durban.
A 2024 Currie Cup champion, Bester signed a contract extension in December 2025 keeping him in Durban through 2028, and looms as a key attacking weapon for the seasons ahead.
