Vusi Moyo's rugby journey began at King Edward VII School in Johannesburg, the famed nursery that produced Springboks such as Bryan Habana and Malcolm Marx. He represented the Lions at Under-18 level before matriculating in 2024 and choosing the Sharks pathway. In 2025 he steered the Junior Springboks to the World Rugby U20 Championship title - their first since 2012 - finishing as the tournament's leading points scorer with 63.
After progressing through the Sharks academy and junior structures, Moyo made a headline-grabbing senior debut in the URC season finale against Zebre in May 2026, marking the occasion with a try and five conversions at Kings Park.
Barely two years out of school, he featured for the Springboks in the uncapped Barbarians fixture in Gqeberha in June 2026 before making his Test debut at flyhalf against Wales in Durban in July 2026, aged just 20. The 2026/27 season looms as the launchpad for one of South African rugby's brightest playmaking talents.
