Namibian-born Jurenzo Julius - nicknamed "The Boogie Man" - made his name at famed rugby nursery Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch, where his explosive midfield play saw the Sharks sign him straight out of school in 2022. He went on to represent the Junior Springboks 13 times across 2023 and 2024, debuting for South Africa U20 against Georgia in August 2023.
Julius made his senior Sharks debut in the United Rugby Championship in September 2024 against Connacht, and has since built his game across the URC, Currie Cup and EPCR competitions, profiled by the club as one of its genuine rising stars during the 2024/25 campaign.
Compact, powerful and comfortable anywhere across the back line, the 22-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting young midfielders in the country. With his junior international grounding and growing senior minutes, Julius is primed to push for a starting centre berth in 2026/27.
