Coetzee le Roux came through the Sharks junior structures, turning out for the Sharks in the SA Rugby Under-21 Cup in 2022 before earning national age-grade recognition. In 2023 he was selected for the Junior Springboks at the World Rugby U20 Championship, starting all four of his appearances at lock and scoring a try in the semi-final against Ireland as South Africa finished the tournament strongly with wins over Argentina and England.
The towering second-rower stepped up to senior rugby in the 2024 Currie Cup and has remained part of the Sharks' Currie Cup campaigns through 2025 and into 2026. He is also listed in the Hollywoodbets Sharks' wider EPCR Champions Cup squad, competing for second-row minutes alongside seasoned internationals.
Still only 23, Le Roux offers genuine size and lineout presence, and the 2026/27 Currie Cup campaign is his platform to convert age-grade pedigree into a regular senior berth.
