William Ridl comes to the Sharks off a standout schoolboy career at Michaelhouse, where he captained the 1st XV in 2025. A direct-running midfielder with the strength to punch holes in defences, he earned selection to the Sharks U18 Academy Week before graduating to the Sharks squad for the 2025 FNB U18 Craven Week in Middelburg.
Having matriculated at the end of 2025, Ridl has stepped into the Sharks' junior structures, and his inclusion in the Currie Cup training environment marks the next phase in his development as he pushes for U19 and U21 honours in Durban.
His leadership pedigree and physical edge in midfield make him one to watch as the Sharks continue to back home-grown KZN talent through their age-grade pipeline.
