Dominic Besag grew up in Danville, California, starting rugby young with the Danville Oaks club while attending powerhouse De La Salle High School in Concord. He combined studies at Saint Mary's College of California with the San Diego Legion academy, and captained the USA U20s in 2023 - the same year his form earned a senior Eagles call-up.
Besag made his Test debut off the bench against Georgia in Tbilisi in August 2023, aged just 19, and has since become a fixture in the USA midfield with 20-plus caps and seven Test tries, starting at inside centre in the Eagles' 2026 Nations Cup wins over Portugal and Zimbabwe. In July 2026 the Sharks announced his signing for the 2026/27 URC season.
