Born in Pretoria, Ross Braude captained the famed Grey College 1st XV in Bloemfontein and twice represented Free State at the Craven Week. He then joined the Bulls' junior structures, helping their age-grade sides to Under-19 and Under-21 championship titles in 2019 and 2020 respectively.
Qualifying for Canada through his Montreal-born father, Braude signed with Major League Rugby's Toronto Arrows in 2021 and made 36 appearances across three seasons, while winning 14 caps for the Canadian national team between 2021 and 2023. Returning to South Africa, he had a stint with the Airlink Pumas before joining the Hollywoodbets Sharks for the 2025/26 United Rugby Championship, where he has become a regular squad member and started at No 9 for the Sharks XV in the 2026 Currie Cup.
A sharp, competitive halfback, Braude has spoken openly of his ambition to represent the Springboks once eligible to switch allegiance - a bold goal driving his Sharks career forward.
