Zekhethelo Siyaya's journey began in Paulpietersburg in rural northern KwaZulu-Natal before a move to Westville Boys' High School in Durban transformed his prospects. He burst onto the national radar at the 2023 U16 Grant Khomo Week and went on to earn SA Schools/SA U18 selection in both 2024 and 2025, establishing himself as one of the most exciting schoolboy backs in the country.
Fast-tracked into the senior set-up, Siyaya made a headline-grabbing Sharks debut at 18 in the 2025/26 URC, starting against the Ospreys in April 2026, and scored a dazzling first try against Zebre in May. He was selected for the Junior Springboks in 2026, called into a Springbok alignment camp that same month, and started on the wing for South Africa 'A' against Zimbabwe in June 2026.
With pace, footwork and composure beyond his years, Siyaya is the Sharks' brightest young star entering 2026/27.
