A product of Glenwood High School in Durban, Jaco Williams earned his stripes in KZN schoolboy rugby before representing the Sharks at the 2023 Under-18 Craven Week. He joined the Sharks Academy in 2024, was selected for the SA Under-19 Academy intake that year, and helped the Sharks U21 side lift the U21 Cup in 2025.
Williams made his Sharks senior debut in the 2024 Currie Cup and his URC debut in the 2024/25 season against the Lions, scoring on his first URC start against the Stormers the following campaign. The "pocket rocket" wing-cum-fullback also starred for the Junior Springboks, wearing the No 11 jersey in the final as South Africa won the 2025 World Rugby U20 Championship - the country's first U20 world title since 2012.
Named in the Springboks' first alignment camp of 2026 at just 20, Williams is one of the most exciting young outside backs in South Africa, and a genuine home-grown star of the Sharks' next generation.
