The Cell C Sharks Under 20s will look to continue their outstanding run in the SA Rugby Under 20 Cup when they face off against the Leopards Under 20s at Hollywoodbets Kings Park on Friday at 13h00 on KP2..
JP Pietersen has coached the team to the enviable position of log leaders after their five matches and even more commendable is the fact that they have not yet tasted defeat.
This match will conclude the pool stages of the tournament and a win over the Leopards will ensure the Cell C Sharks finish top of the log.
A 33-all draw against the Lions is the only non-victory of a campaign that has included the scalps of the Blue Bulls, Western Province and Free State, and last week’s 73-3 defeat of the Valke proved to be the biggest margin of victory for any side in the 2023 tournament.
This is a team that works hard for one another, where the growth of players and people is prioritised within a culture of learning and enjoyment, and the results are a clear indication that JP Pietersen has struck a chord with this group of young players.
Saturday’s clash kicks off on KP2 at 1pm.
