Nemo Roelofse's rugby story began in the Southern Cape, where he was schooled at Hoer Landbouskool Oakdale in Riversdale, one of South African rugby's proudest farm-school nurseries. From there the young tighthead cut his teeth with the SWD Eagles in the Currie Cup First Division and turned out for the Madibaz in the Varsity Cup, building the scrummaging foundations that would carry him abroad.
In 2016 a trial week at Albi in France turned into a decade-long European career, with the prop earning his stripes at Nevers and Stade Francais before establishing himself as a Top 14 regular with Perpignan. In January 2026 the Sharks announced his signing, and he arrived in Durban in June ahead of the 2026/27 Vodacom URC and Currie Cup campaigns.
A vastly experienced operator with more than 200 games of French rugby behind him, Roelofse brings genuine set-piece steel to the Sharks front row - and the chance, at last, for family and friends to watch him ply his trade on home soil.
