Emile van Heerden

The son of former WP and Springbok lock Fritz van Heerden (14 tests, 1994-99), 20-year-old Emile van Heerden has the added advantage of Bok genes and the young beanpole, standing almost 2.00m tall, indeed seems to have a bright future in black and white.

Another proud product of Paarl Boys High, he represented WP at age-group level, before being signed by the Cell C Sharks, and he locked the Junior Springbok scrum last year with JJ van der Mescht at the World Rugby U20 Championship.
