South AfricaOriginally from Newcastle in Northern KZN, Labuschagne was educated at Maritzburg College and arrived at The Sharks Academy four years ago with no playing contract.
The young second-rower however grabbed the opportunity with both hands, and also grabbed a spectacular try for the Cell C Sharks in the national U19 Championship final in 2018, which KZN won 40-27.
Last year, Labuschagne was selected to play for a composite Invitational team against the Cheetahs.
