South AfricaPrior to the season-ending injury sustained against Ospreys in Swansea almost a year ago, Thaakir Abrahams had made huge inroads on the big stage, leading to comparisons with Springbok ace Cheslin Kolbe.
Abrahams’ impressive Kolbe impersonation included a hat-trick in the comprehensive 56-14 annihilation of the Lions during last year’s Carling Currie Cup.
As a child, Abrahams struggled with visual impairment, but, once he’d received contact lenses in Grade 3, his rugby excelled.
Abrahams captained Paarl Boys High First XV, represented WP U18 and also gained selection for the Junior Springboks in 2019.
